Discipline Specific Officiating Guidelines
The following Quick Guides have been produced by the BC Athletics Officials Committee and other senior officials. They are intended to be used by both senior and less experienced officials and host organizing committees to ensure more standardized and professional officiating for track and field meets.
The officials committee recognizes that because of the shortage of credentialed officials, club or school volunteers will often be placed in positions where they must officiate without formal training or mentoring. Therefore, the officials committee encourages the use of these guidelines by all host organizing committees. Included in this section of the BCA website are the following documents. Host organizing committees can enhance their meets by ensuring that prior to their meets (and allowing for time to study) meet volunteers are provided copies of (a) the decorum guidelines and (b) the guidelines document for the event in which they will be volunteering.
