Looking for Clubs to Host NCCP Courses this year

BC Athletics is looking to establish an Annual Course Calendar so we are reaching out to clubs who might be interested in hosting NCCP courses around the same time each year (or a few clubs who would like to alternate each year).

Proposed NCCP Course Dates for 2015 (as presented at AGM):

  • March 27-29th, 2015 - Zone 3, 4, or 5 - Sport Coach and Club Coach 
  • April 10–12th, 2015 - Zone 6 (preferably Nanaimo) - Sport Coach and Club Coach
  • April 10–12th, 2015 - Zone 2 - Sport Coach
  • April 24– 26th, 2015 - Zone 8 - Sport Coach
  • May 29- 31st, 2015 - Zone 1 - Sport Coach
  • June 12-14th, 2015 - Zone 3, 4, or 5 - Road Running Instructor Pilot #4
  • August 28-30th, 2015 - Zone 3, 4, or 5 - Sport Coach (1 weekend before Labour Day weekend)
  • Sept 25-27th, 2015  - Zone 3, 4, or 5 - Club Coach
  • October 2-4th, 2015 - Zone 6 (preferably Victoria) - Sport Coach
  • October 23-25th, 2015 - Zone 1 or 2 - Club Coach
  • November 6-8th, 2015 - Zone 6 (preferably Victoria) Club Coach

  • We can be flexible around the dates – especially if you see any conflicts with meets or events that I might have missed.
  • We could also be flexible with the format and even do a once a week for 6 weeks or a mixture of week nights and weekends. 

This is what your club will receive if you host:

  • 1 free NCCP Course registration fee per course (one weekend) you host!  That is about $150 savings
  • The convenience for your coaches, volunteers, and parents who won’t need to drive far for a course
  • BC Athletics will cover the cost of the facility rental, course materials, and the Learning Facilitators expenses

This is what we would need your help with when hosting:

  • Facilities – confirmation of a classroom and track facility for the times below.  BC Athletics will cover the cost of the facility rental.
  • Classroom that can hold about 20 people, tables, and chairs, and a wall or screen for the projector. 
  • For Club Coach it would be great to be able to make some small break-out rooms for some event specific skill analysis
  • Track and Field facility and equipment – starting blocks and hurdles, horizontal pits, high jump pits, javelin, discus, shot puts.
  • For a Club Coach Course we would also need hammer and pole vault equipment and facilities plus a weight-room close-by where we could do some event specific strength
  • Friday - Classroom from 5:00 – 10:00 pm
  • Saturday - Classroom from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday - Track and Field facility and equipment from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (let me know if there is a fee for booking the track and field facility as we really only need it ½ the day but I want it to be flexible for the LF in case of rain)
  • Sunday - Classroom from 8:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Sunday - Track and Field facility and equipment from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm (let me know if there is a fee for booking the track and field facility as we really only need it ½ the day but I want it to be flexible for the LF in case of rain)
  • Sunday – For Club Coach - Access to a weight room (nearby – I can help with finding this if necessary)
