Please review carefully and note the following changes from previous years. Links to maps are provided where applicable.
Only one vehicle per team will be permitted past the intersection of Dewdney Trunk Rd and Wilson St. Vehicles without passes will be directed down Wilson St to Lougheed Hwy, returning to the race route near the end of Leg 3.
Parking area at Exchange 2 has moved since 2006. Proceed past the exchange and over the dam to the BC Hydro visitor centre (on the right) for parking. Please avoid congestion and proceed directly to this lot to drop off and pick up runners. No blocking or parking permitted near the exchange.
Leg 4 is a restricted area closed to ALL H2H runner vehicles and event traffic except volunteers with Leg 4 Volunteer passes. Only these, plus local resident and business traffic, will be allowed anywhere on Leg 4. See Bypass 4 map. Event designated safety vehicles will patrol the restricted area.
Exchange 4 was moved in 2006. It is located at Dewdney Elementary School on Hawkins Pickle Road (off Lougheed). The race route stays on the left side of Lougheed to and from the exchange and continues east as before. See maps for Leg 4 and Leg 5.
NEW: Local traffic only on Nicomen Island Trunk Road — no race vehicles. Bypass to Exchange 5 along Lougheed.
On Leg 5 at the Sterling Road intersection with Lougheed, runners stay on the right side of the Lougheed Highway and continue on the right side to Exchange 5. This is the only exception to the "stay on the left" rule.
NEW CUT OFF TIME FOR RUNNERS LEAVING EXCHANGE #6
Due to the impending darkness and safety concerns of the racers, the race committee and the
RCMP are implementing the following rules for the Exchange 6 runner start time:
LAST TIME A RUNNER MAY DEPART: Leg 7 runners waiting to depart at Exchange 6 (Sasquatch Inn) will not be permitted to start if their Leg 6 runner has not arrived by 3:30 pm. There will not be a forced start — leg 7 runners will not be permitted to run after 3:30 pm.
If your team registered with 10+ hours predicted time you will be starting at 6:00 am to help get you to Exchange #6 before the cut off. Please note this decision was made to keep all runners safe on the H2H race course. All official race start times will be posted by October 26th.
This remains the same as in the past years — all Leg 8 runners will be forced to start at 3:30 pm regardless of whether their Leg 7 runner has arrived.
This exchange was moved slightly since 2006. It is now on McCallum just past the turn from Cameron onto McCallum Road. There is no longer parking on Cemetery. Vehicles with passes may now turn north onto Cameron to access this exchange, then exit via McCallum to Harrison Hot Springs Road. All others must continue on Lougheed to Harrison Hot Springs Road. See Vehicle Bypass Map.
Turn right off HHS Road at Lillooet Avenue (1 block before Esplanade). Then turn left on Maple to the new finish line on Maple at Esplanade. See finish map.
