Returning again for 2008, the Haney to Harrison will be enforcing some safety rules and disqualification rules. Please know that each of these rules are put in place for the Safety of the event, and are there to keep this event running for many years to come. Our goal is also to keep the H2H a green event as well, so please remember to keep your teams to a 2-car rule!
Please take the time to read the below rules below. If these rules are broken, we will be forced to disqualify teams from the event.
The H2H event cannot take place without the team volunteers policy. This volunteer rule is put in place so that we can continue to run this event smoothly, without incident. H2H will be providing more traffic control marshalls in 2008 so that team volunteers will be dealing mainly with route direction and exchange assistance. We have incorporated a group of zone directors for the event to check on volunteers, and will be providing an updated volunteer map/description for each team, to make sure all duties and locations are clear.
Once again, this rule is put in place for safety and event longevity. As you may be aware the H2H route takes place along major highways throughout the Fraser Valley. As the H2H event is taking place, so are the day to day lives of many residents and businesses along the route. The No parking signs/cones and barricades are put in place to ensure that all traffic is able to move smoothly through the race course especially through exchange points. The set up crew for the H2H has taken the time to carefully place these signs and cones along the route to guide you to parking and away from parking in spots that are easily congested, in turn preventing locals from accessing their homes/stores/businesses. These locals allow our H2H event to take place in their neighborhood every year. If we continue to aggravate them with poor parking and traffic flow, this may put an end to our event.
The H2H is a fun and exciting team event. This rule is self-explanatory. One case of DUI on our race course and RCMP will be forced to recognize this event as a dangerous occurrence. Save the party for the post event party please.
Though this occurrence has been rare, it should never occur. The team volunteers and course marshalls are there to keep your event safe and sound. If you have been asked to "not to park", or are being re routed to another parking location, please stay friendly and after thanking your volunteer/marshall proceed to their suggested location or site. We could not run this event without either of these positions.
Once again, all of these rules are put in place to ensure Event safety and event longevity. Team Captains will be asked at package pick up to initial this page and provide both vehicle license plates for event day by filling out the Team Information Form (PDF) in your team plan. You may choose to print off this page along with your Team Info Form in advance, and bring them with you to package pick-up already filled out and initialed.
