Canadian Tire Interior Road Race Series Wraps Up

The Canadian Tire Interior Road Race Series wrapped up at the Fresh Air Hard Knox 12K on Sunday. The nine race series kicked off back in February at the Starting Block 10K in Lavington, and included races in Kamloops, Kelowna and Oliver. Participants had to complete at least 4 races to qualify for series awards, with up to their 6 best results scoring.

Individuals who completed all 9 races are recipients of Iron Legs awards. This year they included Shanda Hill, Rhian Harrison, Janice Bradshaw, Brenda Dickson, Astrid Varga, Dustin Quigley, Bradley Meikle, Dirk Handke, Dan Kunzelman, Stephen Joyce, Patrick Amundsen, Bill Faulkner, and Mel Doherty, whose unbroken streak now extends to 22 years and about 260 consecutive races.

Age group winners were:

F20-29: Kendall Cowley
F30-34: Shanda Hill
F35-39: Karis Shearer
F40-44: Marie-Josee Bedard
F45-49: Rosalie Swart
F50-54: Sally Heinrick
F55-59: Cindy Rhodes
F60-64: Sandra Wike
F65-69: Astrid Varga
F70-74: Diane Leonard
F80-84: Liz Borrett

M16-19: Liam McGrath
M20-29: Michael Serani
M30-34: Josh Heinrich
M35-39: Aaron Heidt
M40-44: Randy Goncalves
M45-49: Wayne Little
M50-54: Sergio Pio
M55-59: Kris Malczynski
M60-64: Roly Muller
M65-69: Ken Riegel
M70-74: Bill Faulkner
M80-84: Bruce Butcher

Liz Borrett was also the overwhelming winner of the women's age graded rankings, coming out top in all 8 races she participated in. And Roly Muller.topped the men's age graded rankings by consistently placing top 3 on age grading.
