MEGHAN BUTTERWORTH Joins BC Athletics Staff to lead the Run Jump Throw Program

BC Athletics is very pleased to welcome Meghan Butterworth to the staff of the Association. Meghan has taken on the position of the BC Athletics Run Jump Throw Program Coordinator following an extended internship with Basketball BC.

A recent graduate of UBC Okanagan in Human Kinetics-Health Promotion, Meghan, in addition to her time with Basketball BC, has worked with the Canadian Cancer Society in the promotion of the WellnessFits Workplace Health Program, helping to facilitate its implementation with UBC-Okanagan. With an extensive list of volunteer community health projects to her credit, Meghan looks to continue her work in sport programming for children and youth and contribute to a healthier population.

Her own sport background includes nine years with the West Vancouver Field Hockey Club, since 2008 with the Metro Women’s Soccer League and having completed both the Fort Langley and ScotiaBank Half Marathons.

“We are very pleased to have Meghan on board with BC Athletics”, said Brian McCalder, BC Athletics President/CEO. “Meghan’s experience having delivered similar programs with Basketball BC together with her education, sport background, enthusiasm and understanding of Long Term Athlete Development made her an ideal fit for this position. We are confident she will continue to build the best grassroots fundamental movement skills program in Canada and move the Run Jump Throw Program to even greater levels of participation”, concluded McCalder.
