Recruitment drive underway to find 1,000 volunteers to host the largest Games ever

The 2014 Special Olympics Games Organizing Committee announced the launch of a volunteer call for the Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games. The Games, will be taking place in Vancouver from July 8 to July 12, 2014 and Athletics is one of the 11 sports that will be represented!

Track and Field athletes from around Canada will be arriving and we need your help to ensure it will be an outstanding and truly memorable experience for everyone involved.

The Special Olympics Canada 2014 Summer Games will feature 11 sports, making the 2014 Games the largest in Special Olympics Canada’s history. It is anticipated that more than 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials from across the country will take part in the competition.

The 2014 Games Organizing Committee will need more than 1,000 volunteers for all aspects of the Games, including: support for the competitions, athlete and family services, medical teams, and Games operations. Volunteers have the option to sign up as an individual or as a volunteer group. Volunteers can also choose to get involved in one specific aspect of the Games or multiple areas over one or more days. There are roles leading up to the Games as well as throughout the 4 days of competition.
