BC Athletics is pleased to announce that a portion of the proceeds from the Haney to Harrison Road Relay and 100 km Ultra Event (totalling $6000.00) will be donated to and shared equally amongst the Food Banks through which the Haney/Harrison Road Relay and 100 km Ultra Run takes place. The Food Banks identified in 2010 through the Food Banks of British Columbia listing are:
The association of Athletics / Running with the Food Banks links directly with the need for nutritious food for a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Providing financial support to the Food Banks means that for each dollar donated the Food Banks can buy $3.00 worth of food.
In addition to this financial contribution BC Athletics is asking that if possible each H2H participant and/or collectively each team bring a non-perishable food item(s) to donate to the Food Bank. BC Athletics will ensure that these items are delivered to the Food Banks as identified or as arranged for following the event.
Many thanks to all those 2009 relay and ultra participants who donated food items to the Fraser Valley Food Banks. Collectively we have 15 bins of goods to distribute, and BC Athletics will additionally be donating $2,000 to each of the three designated food banks. Special thanks to:
When dropping off the
non-perishable food item(s) please be sure to attach a completed H2H Food
Donation Form
. Leave it with the
