Marpole-Bird Breaks Canadian Youth Record
August 1/05—Justin Marpole-Bird, who was 8th at the World Youth Championships in the 1500 metres, broke Mike Woods' Canadian Youth Record of 3:50.93 with a run of 3:47.4 at the Hershey Harriers Allcomers Meet on Tuesday night. Chris Johnson set the pace, leading Justin through the first thousand metres. Justin went through 1100m at 2:48 and ran a sub-sixty last 400 meters by himself. Justin will run the 3000m at next week's Hershey Harrier meet, before finishing his season at the Legion Nationals in Edmonton in August.
