Requirements:
If an athlete in the 9 to 12 year age category meets the criteria of attending 3 recognized BCJD meets, at least one of which is a JD championship Meet, competes in a run event, a jump event and a throw event and makes a JD awards standard in one event, he or she is eligible for a JD award. A nomination form must be completed before the athlete will be considered for an award.

If an athlete in the 13 and 14 year age category meets the criteria of attending 3 recognized BCJD meets, at least one of which is a JD championship Meet and makes a JD awards standard in one event, he or she is eligible for a JD award. A nomination form must be completed before the athlete will be considered for an award. In the event that no athlete in an events area for a gender/age category makes standard, then the selection committee MAY choose to recognize one athlete at the JD Awards Banquet based on overall performance during the year. Wind gauge readings are recommended for 14 year old athletes.

Also give the second best performance, and indicate which performance(s) makes standard in the JD Awards Standards Table. Give results for all events, not just those that made standard. It is important that second best performances be given. In the case of a top performance not proving to be acceptable the second best performance will be considered.
