If an athlete in the 9 to 12 year age category meets the criteria of attending 3 recognized BCJD meets, at least one of which is a JD Championship Meet, participates in a throw, jump, and run/walk, and achieves a published standard, he or she is eligible to be nominated for a JD award. A nomination form MUST be completed before any athlete will be considered for an award.

If an athlete in the 13 to 14 year age category competes in 3 recognized BCJD meets, one of which is a JD Championship meet, and meets the published standard, he/she is eligible to be nominated for a JD award. In the event of no athlete reaching the standard, but an outstanding performance in any one of the six recognized disciplines, then the selection committee may choose to recognize such an athlete at the JD Awards Banquet if they are within 3% of standard.
