Pan American Games - Declaration of interest to compete

World Youth Championships - Nomination for Acceptance Forms - NEW FORM
A NEW declaration form is now available with the following two modifications to it:
1) added the IAAF entry restrictions (max 2 per event, track restrictions etc ...)
2) Athlete travel options - 2 options a) not attending junior nationals, and b) attending junior nationals
Note: All athletes and staff will be expected to arrive in Montreal / Sherbrooke on Sunday July 6th.
Only if they are attending Junior nationals, athletes will have the option to arrive on Monday July 7th. In this case, our preference will be that athletes book their own return flights to/from hometown to Saskatoon .. and then we make separate travel arrangements to have them depart at the end of the day for Montreal / Sherbrooke on Monday July 7th. Only, with athletes on the west coast, and if appropriate, we will try to do a round-trip route (for example BC to Saskatoon to Montreal/Sherbrooke back to BC) in order to avoid having to go west to go east. In this case AC will only be responsible for the equivalent economy class airfare from hometown to Montreal/Sherbrooke return. The "stopover" costs in Saskatoon will be the responsibility of the athlete / club.
The new forms will be available at the BC High School Track & Field Championships. Eugene Konart will be at the meet to answer questions.
It is critical that the forms be sent in as soon as possible. Complete the Athlete information and the parent/Guardian Consent sections only. BC Athletics will complete the Provincial Branch Use Only section.
Please mail the forms in (no faxes) to:

High-class field confirmed for B.C. Athletics Half Marathon Championship
June 5, 2003 - Event director Alan Brookes has confirmed that a number of Canada's top road racers are registered for the June 22 Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon (SVHM), plus several international elites as well. Expect fast times and intense competition for top spots!
At B.C. Athletics, Road Running Coordinator Jerry Tighe confirmed "how pleased the Association is to have the Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon as the B.C. Athletics Championship for Juniors (18-19), Seniors and Masters 40+. The calibre of athletes entering from not only British Columbia and Canada but other countries is going to make for a special day for the athletes, spectators, sponsors and officials," notes Tighe.
Local stars who will be racing for the $500 BC Championships prize purse include Bruce Deacon, Jim Finlayson, Tina Connelly and Janine Moffett. Lucy Smith is still a possible late entry to challenge for the title.
From Eastern Canada we will see the top three men in the current open Canada Running Series standings: Mustapha Bennacer, Danny Tshindid, and Djamel Boukhari. On the women's side 2002 SVHM winner and current CRS points leader Lioudmila Kortchaguina is returning, as well as Montreal's Isabelle Ledroit.
The Canadians are joined by David Ndungu of Kenya and Susie Power of Australia, 10,000m bronze medallist in the 2002 Commonwealth Games.
It's not just the elites who are flocking to the SVHM - online registration for this popular event is now double what it was at the same time last year, promising a record field of approximately 3,500 for "Canada's easiest scenic half-marathon." Age groupers will be competing for terrific Nike merchandise prizes.
