THE SEE YOU IN ATHENS FUND

Currently 70% of Canada's amateur athletes live below the poverty line.* The number is staggering and real. In the four years leading up to the games, most athletes cannot afford proper training, coaching, nutrition or basic living expenses. The See You In Athens Fund will support those athletes whose dreams and goals of winning gold can be realized through our efforts.

The See You In Athens Fund lives and breathes to further strengthen our Canadian pride in our heroes – namely our athletes. Without those men and women who strive for excellence in amateur sport, there would be no 'flag waving' at international competitions.

The See You In Canadian Athletes Fund is a non-for-profit organization devoted solely to raising money and awareness for Canada's amateur athletes. The fund has been set-up to help Canada's amateur athletes ready for international summer and winter games. Monies donated to the Fund are put directly into the hands of Canadian athletes to support their training, coaching, nutrition and living expenses in preparation for international competition. The mission is to underwrite expenses of as many Canadian amateur athletes as possible, as support is needed years before the medals can be obtained.

Already in 2003, the See You In Athens Fund has dispersed funding to 108 athletes from across Canada, with many more still to come. As our next athlete application deadline approaches on November 28th, we're on a BIG ASK campaign, driving hard toward our goal of $5 million by December 4th. We want to connect 31 million Canadians with our hundreds of elite athletes from coast to coast. It's a crucial time. Early in the new year, many will need to travel overseas in order to train in climates suited to their sport while continuing to qualify for Athens next summer.

One of the most exciting things is that our athletes are already starting to PAY IT FORWARD. On October 19th, 2003 World Champion (100m Hurdles) and See You In Athens recipient Perdita Felicien was the guest of honour at the Friends of Ferrari Gala Luncheon in Woodbridge, Ontario. When asked what charity she wanted to donate $5000 toward, Perdita chose See You In Athens. Perdita received $5000 from the See You In Athens Fund and now she's paying it forward with support enough to take care of another athlete on our waiting list. What a great way for everyone to play a part in our country's success!

MAKE AN INVESTMENT IN CANADIAN PRIDE
ALL DONATIONS WELCOME - TAX RECEIPTS ISSUED

If you’ve ever watched with pride as the Canadian team has entered a stadium ready for competition, or an emotional athlete mounts the podium as the Canadian anthem plays behind, you know our goal.

Make an investment in Canadian pride and help nurture our future heroes.

Whether you are an individual or a corporation, we invite you to support Canadian athletes by donating to the See You In Athens Fund.
