The Canada Games Council (CGC) and the Foundation for Athletes Sport Training (FAST) have partnered for the second year in order to deliver the Canada Games FAST Track athlete grant. The program will provide direct financial assistance to Canada's next generation national team athletes to support their training and competition needs. The grant is designed to fill a gap in Canada's sport system and support Canada Games-level athletes who are targeted and on the pathway to excellence at the national team level.

The Canada Games FAST Track athlete grant will award a minimum of 60 grants for $2000.00 each to next generation national team athletes across Canada. The eligibility criteria and selection process set out below as well as the information received by the applicant on the enclosed application form will be used to determine grant recipients. Athlete performance over the last two competitive seasons will be used as a key indicator for identifying recipients.

Athletes will complete an application form and must return it to the Canada Games FAST Track Selection Committee. Once the Selection Committee has received all applications, the committee will approach the NSOs and/or P/TSOs for endorsement and verification of information on applications. Incomplete application forms will be deemed ineligible and will not be processed. The deadline for application receipt is Friday December 9, 2005, 5:00pm EST.
