officials
OF PARTICULAR INTEREST TO OFFICIALS
Plan ahead! The Officials AGM will be held on October 28, in
Abbotsford, at Madison’s restaurant. Details to follow.
And speaking of the AGM, those in attendance last fall were treated to
a power point presentation, created by our own April Arsene, of “the
season in review”, full of photos of officials in action. She has agreed
to do another production, but will need you to send photos to her at arsene@telus.net.
When did you begin officiating? Please send your start year (or
as close as you can remember) along with your BCA number to Kathy
Terlicher at kdterlicher@shaw.ca.
The National Official Committee is honouring long time officials with
recognition at 25 years, and then for each five year span after that. But
they need your statistics to compile this history.
New (to us) Officials! A hearty “Welcome to British Columbia”
goes out to two officials; we are fortunate to have them re-locating to
our province, and look forward to seeing them at events this season.
Peter Hesketh is moving from Alberta to White Rock. He is very welcome,
and look at the talents: Vertical Jumps 5 and Throws Referee 3. Peter will
be in his new home at the end of May, and is already volunteering for
meets.
And Peter Francis (newly promoted to Horizontal Jumps 5,
congratulations) is moving from Manitoba to "somewhere near
Victoria" in the near future.
