OF PARTICULAR INTEREST TO OFFICIALS
There have been substantial updates to the officials web page, and all
officials are encouraged to check out the new features. The website now
has the upgrading information and forms, with an on-line request form for
people who want to upgrade in 2007.
www.bcathletics.org/main/officials.htm#upgrading
You can also download a new record card for the 2007 season. Printed
cards will also be available from your Regional Coordinator (Carol Cull,
Alice Kubek, Alwilda van Ryswyk). And as encouragement for keeping your
record cards current, the awards nomination form and information on the
incentive program is also available in the official's section of the BCA
website.
We encourage all officials to register with BCA early in the season.
And with the first T&F meet of the year (SFU Invitational) coming up
on March 31st, the time is ticking for getting the all important
registration form processed. You are not insured to be in the competition
area unless you have a current membership.
Some important notes on registration this year.
- You can register in several categories, but if you are planning to
volunteer as an official, you MUST check the "official " box
on the back of the registration form. This will ensure that you are
included in members lists that we receive from BC Athletics
- If you are a member of a club your registration must go through your
club registrar. If you are an unattached official you can register
directly though Sam at BCA, just send her your form and payment,
either electronically or by mail. The fee is now $15.90
Event Check-in.
We are asking all event organizers to provide a signed area (table) for
officials check-in. When you arrive on the site, please sign in and let
the organizers know you are there. After you have done that, you can pick
up a copy of the officials event feedback form either at the check in
table or at the finish line. This form should be returned to the finish
line at the end of the day, and will help provide useful information for
all of us involved in trying to improve the world of athletics. The event
feedback form is also available in the new "Forms" section of
the officials web page
