Individual Membership Application Process

Club Registrars sign up their members with BC Athletics through AC Direct. All members of BC Athletics affiliated clubs will submit their BC Athletics membership applications directly to their club Registrar for processing. The BC Athletics Membership application form on the BC Athletics website is also available for "Unattached" members to use.

All BC Athletics affiliated clubs are required to complete the "BC Athletics Club Registrar Waiver Form - 2010 Registration Year" PDF file in order to have access to the ACDirect national on-line database. If you have not already submitted a waiver please do immediately. Forms can be faxed to (604) 333-3551. You will not be able to enter 2010 memberships until the waiver is submitted.

Who can be a member of BC Athletics?

BC Athletics welcomes membership from all residents of British Columbia and Canadians residing outside of BC. Please contact the BC Athletics office for information regarding eligibility to take part in some BC Athletics and Athletics Canada programs that are regulated by the requirement to be either a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant, i.e. BC & Canadian Team Programs and BC and Canadian funding programs.

SPECIAL NOTE:

New BC Athletics members signing up with an application date after September 30 of the current year will receive a 15 month membership valid until the end of the following year. When choosing your age / membership category please calculate your age as of December 31, 2010.

Renewing BC Athletics members who sign up after September 30 of the current year will receive a membership valid until December 31 of the current year.

NOTE: BCA club members submit your applications to your club registrar for processing. Unattached members submit applications directly to BCA.

Standard membership terms & benefits

  • Term of affiliation January 1st through December 31st

    Note: In order to be eligible for Road and Cross Country Championships and championship medals, selection to BC Teams and funding, 35 - 39 year olds are required to hold a "Senior" membership and compete in the "Senior" category

Masters in the Master 35-39 or Master 40+ categories who wish to compete as both a Master and a Senior should take out a "Senior" membership and indicate their Master category as a second membership type. The fee will be $94.50 and will include both memberships chosen.

Athletes selected to the BC Summer Games, BC Summer Games Alternate Meet, or *BC Winter Games (Road Race) who do not have an annual, competitive membership.

School Membership (from Sept 15 – June 30 only)

BCA School Memberships are valid for all BCA sanctioned competitions held between Sept 15 and June 30. They are also a valid membership for sanctioned competitions outside of BC during the same period. This membership type is not valid for entry in BC Athletics Track & Field Championships nor any Athletics Canada Championships.
