Individuals are encouraged to apply for positions with BC Athletics Teams in the role of Head Coach, Event Coach or Manager. Individuals must meet Coaching Certification and other requirements (detailed below) in order to be considered for positions. Selected Coaches and Managers will be required to commit to assisting in Team and Individual Athlete Preparation should that be requested. For any questions please contact BC Athletics.

For all BC Teams, BC Athletics will fill all event group coach positions necessary. When teams are competing in BC, every effort will be made to increase the number of BC Team Coaches and Managers so as to provide BC Team opportunities. Team Managers are selected by the BCA Committees from the applications submitted. The Head Manager is appointed by BC Athletics. Coaches and managers are chosen based on a wide range of information. The information in this form is a starting point for consideration.

Requirements for Team Staff Consideration

To be considered for any staff positions with BC Athletics Teams you are required to be a current Coach member of BC Athletics, be in good standing, meet the required Coaching Certification requirements and ADHERE TO THE COACHES CODE OF CONDUCT.

  1. Canadian Junior & Senior T&F Championships: Head Coach — Level 3, Comp Dev / All other coaches minimum of Level 2 Club Coach
  2. Legion Canadian Youth T & F Championships: Head Coach — Level 3, Comp Dev / All other coaches minimum of Level 2 Club Coach
  3. Canadian 10Km Road Running Championships — Head Coach — Level 3, Comp Dev
  4. Canadian Half Marathon and Marathon Championships — Head Coach — Level 3, Comp Dev
  5. Canadian Cross Country Championships — Head Coach Level 3, Comp Dev / All other coaches minimum of Level 2 Club Coach
  6. Western Canada Summer Games — Head Coach, Level 3 Comp Dev / All other coaches minimum of Level 2 Club Coach
  7. Canada Summer Games — All Coaches, Level 3 Comp Dev
  8. TEAM MANAGERS — Minimum Intro to Competition A for All Teams

Please Note: Team Staff are expected to be present at the BC Team Selection Competition(s).
