Location

Due to weather conditions forecast for Saturday, October 31 it is necessary to move to Jericho Park, 4000 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver.

GUESTROOM RATES

Standard Room: $69 CAD net based on single/double occupancy in a Standard Room (1 King/Queen or 2 Twin beds) per room per night, plus 10% Provincial Sales Tax and 5% Goods and Services Tax.

Deluxe Room: $89 CAD net (bigger room with 2 Double beds, a wetsink and a mini fridge) based on single/double occupancy plus taxes.

Executive King or Queen Rooms: $109 CAD net (6 highest floors with a premium view of the city/sea, including Wireless High-Speed Internet access, mini fridge, more colorful décor), based on single/double occupancy plus taxes.

Additional $20 charge plus taxes for each additional person on top of $89 CAD. A Deluxe Room would be offered to these guests. Please note maximum of 4 people per room.

Should you require Wireless High-Speed Internet service, the fee is $14 all inclusive per 24 hours.

Cots are additional $20 plus taxes, based upon availability.

Ferry Travel Assistance

Through the Sporting Life on the Coast program, BC Ferries and Sport BC will assist with ferry travel costs for athletes participating in the BC Championships. For further details, see the Sport BC website: www.sport.bc.ca/SpecialOffers/bcFerriesProgram.asp.  Applications for travel assistance must be received at least two weeks before the Championship.

Loops are on grass and trails. Spikes are suitable.

Eligibility

All BC Athletics Competitive, Recreation, Masters, School Club, School District Club and Day of Event Members are eligible to compete in these Championships.

NOTE: To be eligible for awards, Juvenile, Junior & Senior participants must be annual Athlete Members, School Club, or School Day of Event members. School Club members and School Day of Event members must represent their school.

BC Athletics Membership

BC Athletics requires that all participants in events sanctioned by BC Athletics must have BC Athletics Membership (or equivalent from another Province or Country). To provide for this and to give complete insurance coverage a school or individual may take advantage of one of the following choices:

  • Regular BC Athletics membership (Competitive, Recreational or Masters) or equivalent.
  • School Club / School District Membership, which covers all athletes in your school who enter BC Athletics events from September 15 to June 30. The cost is $125.00 (plus GST for High Schools).
  • Individual / School Day of Event Membership, $3.00. Valid for this event only.

Awards

Separate awards will be given for males and females for each age division: 9-15, Juvenile, Juniors, Seniors, Masters and All Comers races.

All Comers Race: Medals to first 3 finishers, men & women. Ribbons 4th to 8th.

9-15 Championships: BC Athletics medals to individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each category (i.e. years 1994 to 2000 - Boys & Girls). Ribbons for 4th to 8th place.

BC Championships: BC Athletics medals to individual 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in each competitive category i.e. Juvenile, Junior, Senior, Masters – Men & Women (including competitive members from other provincial and foreign associations).

CASH PRIZES

BC Athletics is pleased to announce that prize money will be provided to Men's and Women's Open and Masters Age groups in the Provincial Cross Country Championships.

Note: Medals in the Masters grouping will be given only to the top 3 overall, not by age category. Ribbons will be mailed out to the first three finishers in each Masters age category.

Team Awards to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams:

  • Juvenile/Junior/Senior/Masters-Women: Top 4 to Score
  • Juvenile/Junior/Masters-Men: Top 4 to score
  • Senior-Men: Top 5 to score

All team members must be registered with the same club and be Competitive members of BC Athletics (or equivalent from other Province or Country) to score for team competition.

JD Overall Club Trophy will be awarded to the Club with the most points from all age divisions. Scoring will be based on top 6 placings in each JD race.

A late entry charge of $5.00 will be charged to each athlete if the registration form is received after October 26.
