| Stephanie McCann Selected To Represent America's At
World Cup
September 9, 2002 -- BC pole vaulter Stephanie McCann will leave this Friday (September 14) for Barcelona, Spain where the World Cup of Athletics will take place. Stephanie will represent the America's team at this competition that divides the world into four zones with one athlete per event from each zone selected to compete at the World Cup competition. The America's team draws its representatives from Canada, Mexico, South American and Caribbean countries. Earlier this year Stephanie set a Canadian women's pole vault record of 4.35 metres in winning the event at the Canadian Championships in Edmonton. She represented Canada at this year's Commonwealth Games where she won a bronze medal. Stephanie stated that, "I am very excited about being invited to be part of this competition.
