Len van Ryswyk

Club: South Fraser TFC

Len has been coaching with the South Fraser TFC for seven years. Recently, two JD athletes from SFTC were honoured at the JD Awards Banquet, held in October ’11. He feels that track is an excellent sport that is the bases of all other sports- power and speed, endurance, building strength, etc. As a masters athlete he understands what the body can do. He reads books, attends nutrition and skills clinics, and watches video on track & field to improve his coaching. During the summer he organized an evening high jump clinic for Langley, Oceans and South Fraser with each club sponsoring one night. He sometimes takes athletes to gymnastic facilities to improve their high jump, and pole vault technique. He was the director of the Jr. Olympics Track meet. In 2010 he was the Summer Games coach for Zone 3, and will be helping with the organization of the 2012 Summer Games which will be held at the South Fraser Track. Len coaches high jump, pole vault, power and speed, long jump and hurdles. Len is a very positive coach who always encourages his athletes to do their best in practice and at competitions. South Fraser TFC had 2 athletes awarded at the JD Banquet in October 2011.
