(Vancouver, BC – February 19, 2014) The weather gods smiled on the 25th anniversary Pacific Road Runners “First Half” Half Marathon on Sunday, as despite dire predictions of wind and rain, records were broken under blue skies and sunshine.

The third race in the 2014 Timex BC Road Race Series, which also served as the 2014 BC Half Marathon Championship, drew a sell out crowd. Rob Watson retained the title he won in 2013, and Natasha Wodak reclaimed the title she previously won in 2012.

A cool, clear and calm morning resulted in fast times at the Kajaks Icebreaker 8K, second event in the 2014 Timex BC Road Running Series, and first event in the Lower Mainland Road Race Series. Adam Byles was a clear winner overall, just dipping under 24 minutes for a new course record of 23:59.
