The stadium can hold 4,500 spectators and has a strong history of hosting World Class Track & Field Competitions, including the annual Harry Jerome Track Classic. The Eight lane, 400 metre World Athletics certified track was resurfaced in 2017.

Men’s Stadium Record: Armando Quintanilla, MEX, 27:49.24 (1992 Harry Jerome Track Classic)

Women’s Stadium Record: Nora Leticia Rocha, MEX, 32:08:82 (2000 Harry Jerome Track Classic)

We have identified Mid-June as the ideal date for these championships based on historical weather averages. Typical daytime highs are reported at 19.6 degrees while lows are reported at an average of 12.2 degrees with low relative humidity. We plan to contest these Championships late in the evening, after sunset, to take advantage of cooler temps and light winds.
