IAAF RULE BOOK - ABRIDGED EDITION
The IAAF Rules of Athletics Competition 20022003 book is now available
at BC Athletics.
This "Little Red Book" is an abridged version of the IAAF
Handbook 2002-2003 and contains only the rules of competition without the
first 90 pages of IAAF information. The book is constructed to lie flat as
wellmaking it much more useful in the field. Canadian/BC variations
will also be included.
Price $6.00 including taxes (price subject to change without notice)

TRACK & FIELD RANKINGS AND RECORDS
BC Athletics is looking for someone to create annual provincial rankings
and to track pending records. Assistance and support where required will
be available from BC Athletics staff. If you love statistics and would

CANADIAN JUNIOR TRACK & FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Each year the International Olympic Academy (IOA) in Greece organizes
various sessions to further education on the Olympic Movement. This year,
the COC plans to send up to two delegates to the 43rd International
Session for Young Participants (General Session), which will take place
July 30-August 13, 2003. This session is open only to participants between
the ages of 20 and 35 at the time of the Session (IOA rule). The main
topic is Olympism and the special topic is Education through Sport.
Candidates must have a basic understanding of Olympism and be involved in
some “Olympic” capacity. General information on the session is

CLUB EXCHANGE OPPORTUNITY - APLEDOORN, NETHERLANDS
Athletics Club AV'34 in Apledoorn Netherlands is looking to set up an
exchange with a BC Athletics affiliated club. Up to 50 athletes aged 13 -
17 and several chaperones are invited for 14 days during the last week of
April and the first week of May 2004.
There will be regular training/exercise session with the club, bus tours
to different points of interest and participation in the Remembrance Day
ceremonies May 4th and Liberation celebrations May 5th.
Clubs from Nova Scotia and Manitoba already have completed this exchange
program and now the Netherlands is looking for Western province
The BCA club members would be responsible for Airfare and pocket money.
Billeting will be with host families.
Note: if there are no responses from B.C. by June 1, 2003 this opportunity
will be passed on to another province.

The BC Athletics Juvenile, Junior and Senior T&F Committee has
selected the following team staff to the BC Juvenile Team travelling to
Kitchener, August 7 - 14 2003 for the Royal Canadian Legion Competition
and Development Camp:

If you enjoy talking to runners, volunteers are needed in 3 hour blocks to
assist at the BC Athletics booth. Questions posed by out of town
participants will need to be answered as well as queries from locals
needing to know more about the benefits of joining BC Athletics.
