HELP NEEDED IN SMITHERS
Smithers is looking for someone with timing equipment and time on their hands to travel north to work at the Norwest Zone High School Track & Field Meet. All expenses (air travel, accommodation, rental, honorarium etc.) will be taken care of. This would give someone an excellent opportunity to see another part of BC - and there's always fly fishing on the Babine River!
The meet will be held Thursday May 22nd starting at 5:00pm and continues Friday, May 23rd all day. For further information please contact Greg Peters at gregpeters@uniserve.com

NATIONAL TEAM COACHING APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
Applications are now being accepted for the 2003 - 2005 national Team Coaching Apprenticeship Program. this program is designed to provide opportunities for Canadian women coaches to work with their national team programs leading up to and during the 2003 Pan Am Games and/or the 2004 Olympic or Paralympic Games.

BC TEAM PROGRAM
BC Team Fee Schedule 2003
The following is a clarification on the BC Team fee changes made in 2002.
The yearly (April 1st to March 31 - twelve month time period) BC Team Fees for each athlete selected to BC Teams are:

First Out of Province Team $250.00
Subsequent Out of Province Teams $125.00
First In Province Team $100.00
Subsequent In Province Teams $ 50.00

BC Team members are provided with:
1.Travel (air and/or ground as appropriate);
2.Connecting flight and ground transportation costs as appropriate;
3.Travel agent booking fees at a reduced rate and as appropriate;
4.Entry fee(s);
5.Team Uniform 1 per year;
6.Event Banquet fee (as appropriate);
7.Equipment fee coverage e.g. pole vault poles;
8.Team accommodation arrangements. Note: The costs of accommodation and meals are the responsibility of all BC Team athletes, club funded athletes and club funded coaches;
9.Travel arrangements and best possible group airfares;
10.Provision of BC Team Staff Coaches and Manager(s);
11.BC Team Program Sport Injury/Accident Insurance for all team members;
12.BC Team Program General Liability Insurance for all team members;
13.Communication and the circulation of BC Team and competition information;
14.Overall coordination of the BC Team program

Rationale
Due to the increases in airfares, additional surcharges on fuel and airline security costs BC Athletics must pay, we had to increase BC Team fees in 2002. We endeavour to find the best possible group airfares and negotiate to allow at least one change of travel date (for a limited number per team) at no cost, provide names within 2 weeks of travel and the ability to add additional seats to the group at the same cost as the group fare.

Clarification and questions should be directed to:
