2022 HARRY JEROME SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENTS ANNOUNCED!

Congratulations to Christina Peet Williams and Caiden Lee

The Harry Jerome Scholarship is an annual award presented by BC Athletics and funded by the Vancouver Foundation to high school graduates who have demonstrated athletic excellence in track and field, community leadership and have committed to a post secondary institution in 2022/2023 and to pursue their academic and athletic goals. BC Athletics is excited to announce this year's recipients:

 

Christina Peet Williams of the Chilliwack Track and Field Club and Chilliwack Secondary School, continues to excel in the Distance events.  In 2021, Christina represented British Columbia at the Canadian Cross Country Nationals. Christina holds a personal best of 9:55 in the 3000m, and a 4:33.50 in the 1500m. Christina is looking forward to attending UVIC next fall to study Environmental Studies and Human Geography, and to be a member of UVIC’s Varsity Track and Field Program.

 

Caiden Lee of the Ocean Athletics Track & Field Club and Semiahmoo Secondary School excels in the middle-distance events and on the cross-country course. Caiden set a new 1500m personal best, with a time of 3:51, as well as a personal best in the XC 5k with a time of 15:16. Caiden has represented British Columbia in numerous competitions both on the track and in Cross Country. He is looking forward to continuing his running career at Boston University next fall and focusing his studies on Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Materials Engineering.
