Les Leyland 1917 - 2012

It is with sadness that we note the passing of Les Leyland.  Les is remembered as a very friendly and happy man with a wonderful smile.  Les participated  in many local road races, the BC Senior Games and in the World Masters Track & Field Championships. Les passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday at the Columbia View Lodge.  Les' name is the BC Masterd Records 13 times and he also  holds 9 Canadian records (in bold): * 9 Outdoor Records - M80:  1000m.   M85:  800m, 1500m, 5000m.   M90:  200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m. * 4 Indoor Records - M80:  800m, 1500m.   M85:  1500m, 3000m.
