Recent Health Order Changes (Oct 1, 2021)

There have recently been changes to Provincial and Regional Health Orders. As orders have been changing more frequently, consult with your local health authority when planning and executing your event.

  • Provincial Orders in effect for Western Fraser, Vancouver Coastal and Island Heathl – Regional restriction noted below.
  • Eastern Fraser Health (Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope, Harrison and greater area) –
    • Outdoor organized events greater than 50 people, require proof of vaccination.
    • Proof of vaccination is not required for programs for children and youth, including those who are directly supporting the program (ie. Coaches, officials, event volunteers)
  • Interior Health
    • Province wide indoor and outdoor gathering capacities are in place.
    • Extracurricular school sports, players, coaches and volunteers do not require proof of vaccination.
    • You must be fully vaccinated to participate in adult sport (age 22+), or to be a spectator indoors with more than 50, or outdoors spectator with more than 100 in attendance.

    • We have heard of instances where non-stadia running and cycling events have been classed under the Gathering & Events order, not as sport.
      • Gathering over 100 people outdoors (50 indoors) full vaccination is required. Events and gatherings, if there are  not fully vaccinated people in attendance, contact tracing must be kept.
